We filled Madison with junk food and pillows like we were going on a road trip. First stop: Hodads in Ocean Beach. We had impeccable timing. When we got there we were already 2nd in line. I only mention this because when we left the line went around the corner. But anyways... absolutely delicious. Nothing fancy. No "how would you like it cooked?"s. Just a bacon cheeseburger. Classic. And the best ionion rings I've ever had. Even their potato wedges were great. I don't normally like potato wedges. Too much soft potato for something I wanted crispy. But their wedges were crispy :) yummmm
We made it just in time for our 2pm showing. Kathy is awesome. She snagged us front and center seats. My blind eyes could actually see the dancers expressions! So okay.. this goes without saying. Of course it was beautiful. The costumes, choreography, the lines... pretty much everything. But what really blew me away was the muscles. And no in an "oh daaamn" kind of way. This was very much a "take a step back and admire how exquisite the human body is" kind of way. Ridiculously exquisite. And to see the physics /biomechanics of it all was just wow. I don't know if this is the kines nerd in me talking.
We eventually picked up Sincha from UCSD and went back out to Extraordinary Desserts. They really were extraordinary. I don't like chocolate cake. It's not something I prefer. I don't know what compelled me to order a chocolate cake this time. Oh wait, I remember. It had crunchies on top. I love cakes with crunchy things on/in it. I am a lover of tiramisu though. Good thing MM got a tortamisu. I took a bite of mine. Put it aside and shared MM's.
My weekend was filled with food. When is it not?? And if we didn't have to leave SD at 10, I probably would've gotten a bomb.com breakfast. Probably.
| Sponge Candy. LOVE IT. Found a recipe. I'll let you know how that goes. |
| JR took me to see a view of the ocean. I guess it's underneath that blanket of clouds. |
