Losers.

Do you know what I only discovered today???  How much fun the 110 is when there's no traffic.  The 210 is so monotonous, just a straight shoot to no wheresville.  Between Pasadena and the Dodger Stadium, the 110 is just windy, twisty fun.  I didn't dare drive past 75mph, 70 probably would've sufficed.  It was like a roller coaster and a test of how well I could keep my car in my lane.  I should find more things to do in LA just so I could drive on the 110 more often.

I played Downtown LA local today.  I parked my car in lot.  Walked a couple of blocks to Miss Kathy's apartment.  It was gorgeous.  The entrance is a small, non-assuming door, but once you get in it's magnificent.  The elevators alone blew my mind.  I live in Covina, there's a lot that blows my mind.  But her apartment was pretty great.  It was swimming in industrial vibe with cement floors and high ceilings.  The windows alone yelled industrial.  It could probably be a factory if it weren't so classy.

I really regret not bringing my camera.  The one time I've actually walked around Downtown LA was for art walk, and I was by myself and I just wanted to see enough to write a paper.  But this time I was taking mental pictures of everything.  Aside from constantly walking down the wrong street and Kathy having to point me in the right direction, I was a total local today.  I walked the streets.  From Pete's Cafe to O Bar  basically.  She took me through Pershing Square for my first time ever, past Buck's (Jon's work), and the parking structure she has to park at 15 min away from their apartment.  It was a nice day for a walk.

She chose O Bar from the DineLA options and I'm so glad she did.  I'm sure I've had butternut squash soup one other time in my life.  But since I don't remember it, I think it's safe to say this was the best butternut squash soup I have ever had in my whole entire life.    Then came the O burger.
tomator and shallot confit, bacon, provolone, green
I think the greens on the burger were my favorite.  Hands down delicious and definitely puts Back Abbey's Backyard burger to shame.  TO SHAME!  Too bad it cost $16 regular price.  I'm actually glad I took part in the whole 3 course meals throughout LA thing.  I finished mine with an apple crumble thingy with ice cream.  It was waaaay too sweet.  And I like my sweets so that's saying something.

On our walk back to the apartment we both got side cramps :)  That's the sign of a good meal.

  1. I like the 110 too, but only to an extent. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable driving fast when there are lots of cars on the road because what if I accidentally veer out of my lane and someone is next to me? But yeah, usually when John drives down the 110, he goes super fast cuz he is really comfortable on that road and I think it's fun :)
