Day 2: Math facts!

When I procrastinate I sort of take a short cut.  And in this particular instance (the GRE's), I've resorted to using the notecards.  They work.  Freshmen year at Lucy's, Mr. B made us write definitions, one definition per page.  He said it's easier to study that way.  There's not a lot of information on the page.  I thought he was crazy.  I wanted to curse him for wasting so much paper.  But I understand.  And not just tonight, not like I'm slow and I finally got why... btw.  lol... anyways!  I love these notecards. They're not filled with words.  It gets to the point.  And rather than the book which is filled mostly with testing strategies, these tell me what I should know.  How to effing do the problem.

But first, I'm sooo sad I missed the Renegade Craft Festival in LA today.  I spent a good part of the morning trying to find someone to go with me and I've come to the conclusion that I need more friends! I'm also sad because I probably could've had someone go with me but I think she's ignoring me, insert sad face here.  Without getting out of bed, I took 2  naps after waking up before deciding to go to Claremont and make funfetti cupcakes with Robyn, insert fat face here.
Funfetti cupcakes with funfetti icing (vanilla icing with sprinkles).
Now I know I knocked cupcakes the other day, but these are the exception, or when serving some at a party.  I don't get all the stores that have popped up.  I love homemade cakes!  Even if it is just from the box.  We were supposed to go with the "from scratch" route, but I left my hand mixer at home.

I don't know what we did for the rest of the day, but I do know that I love that little monster.  She "climbed" onto the couch where I was laying, "climbed" on top of me and put her head on my chest.  What a booger!  She will get anything she wants from me.  And she claps after I sing her a song.  I think everyone should clap after I sing a song!

The end.
Follow the jump for math facts.. yay!!
Math fact 9:  Laws of exponents.  I'm not going to put it here because having to use carrots all the time annoys me.

Math Fact 26: Calculation a weighted average.  For example, 10 boys score 80% on a test, and 15 girls score 90% on the same test.  The average is not 85%.
(10*.80 + 15*.95)/(10+15)=86%

Math Fact 27: The mode is the number that appears most often.

Math Fact 28: Binomial products!
(x+y)(x-y)=x2-y2 <---this was always my favorite
(x+y)(x+y)= x2+2xy+y2
(x-y)(x-y)=x2-2xy+y2

Math Fact 37: 45-45-90 triangles.  (I've put off some practice tests because I can't remember the properties for triangles :/)
Ratio of the lengths of the three sides is x:x:x(rad 2)

Math Fact 38: 30-60-90 triangles
Ratio of the lengths of the three sides is x:x(rad3):2x
Opposite 30 is x.

Really, I need to draw myself a circle.  I forgot all those properties in terms of pi.  And it's been screwing up the practice tests I have taken because I can't find areas because I can't find heights.  It's sad.

Oh, Math Fact 40:  The only time the height can be a side of the triangle is if the base and height are the 2 legs of a right triangle.
